Ce Yan was born in Harbin, China but raised in Shenzhen, where is one of the most developed and high-tech cities in China. After receiving his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, he went to UCLA to obtain a master in architecture from IDEAS, where he is now a member of Güvenç Özel’s technology studio.
Ce Yan is currently studying the application of digital and virtual forms in architecture design. Specifically, he is now interested in applying new techniques such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Artificial Intelligence into the architectural design process. Under professor Güvenç Özel, he has recently conducted some studies on the application of AI algorithm in architectural design, information visualization design, and the combination of mixed reality and physical architecture.
Ce Yan is passionate about the future of information-based architecture and is proficient in the use of non-linear modeling software and parametric design software, such as Maya, C4d, rhino, and grasshopper.
